Initiated in 2001, The Rotterdam Lab is a five-day training programme for emerging producers, organised during the CineMart (supported by Creative Europe’s Access to Markets scheme), the renowned annual co-production financing forum for feature films held during the International Film Festival Rotterdam (which also received support through Creative Europe’s Film Festivals scheme).
The aim of the Rotterdam Lab is to give producers at the start of their careers the opportunity to develop international market experience and knowledge through privileged access to CineMart participants, panel discussions and round table sessions.
The latest cohort of producers has been revealed, with four UK participants having been nominated by IFFR Pro partners and subsequently selected. They are:
- Benjamin Young of Third Films, nominated by EAVE
- Collie McCarthy of Forty Foot Pictures, nominated by Screen Ireland
- Kathy Speirs of Up Helly Aa LTD, nominated by Scottish Film Talent Network
- Margarita Veberaite of Shakehaus, nominated by Scottish Film Talent Network
